Golf Shop Attendant

POSITION SUMMARY

The golf shop attendant ensures inside components of golf operations is facilitated. This specifically relates to customer check-in, customer booking, golf shop cleanliness, along with other responsibilities to maintain a professional golf shop. The golf shop attendant must be flexible in meeting the varying scheduling needs of the course and may be required to work additional hours than scheduled, if necessary. This position requires a highly self-motivated individual who can work with minimal supervision and interact with guests at a high-level.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

It must be recognized that all specific duties cannot be listed and that responsibilities will change accordingly as the need arises.

  • This position will acknowledge all guests they encounter in a warm, friendly, and professional manner.
  • Maintain good personal hygiene and report to work wearing a clean, neat uniform.
  • Check for any notes or special instructions for the day.
  • Make sure you have a working radio.
  • Communicate in a clear and professional manner that assists guests.
  • Ensure the golf shop is stocked of merchandise in a presentable way and free of excess dust.
  • Coordinate with the starter and ranger about any changes to the tee sheet or any updates that need to be addressed on the course.
  • Coordinate with the golf cart attendant and starter to maintain a consistent level of cart availability and to ensure guests are following the rules.
  • Provide explanations of golf products and services to all guests.
  • Manage club rentals as needed. (Get guests driver’s license or credit card to hold as well as a signature and count the number of clubs going out. Clean the clubs when they come back.)
  • Provide information regarding the course to each group that checks in.
  • Get updates from the starter and ranger throughout the shift on the pace of play.
  • Be familiar with the website to help guests with online booking as well as the PVGC app to assist guests with mobile check-in.
  • Help with creative solutions to problems as they arise.
  • Assist outing personnel with the setup of golf carts and range operations when asked.
  • Refer all major problems/complaints to a manager on duty.
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Adhere to all Pleasant View Golf Course Policies and Procedures.


REQUIREMENTS

  • Flexible availability including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to clearly communicate with co-workers and guests.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • A positive attitude and good customer service while on the job is essential.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and coordinate multiple tasks.
  • Ability to use a computer (point of sale system) for checking in guests as well as handling money.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
