POSITION SUMMARY
The junior lesson instructor plays a vital role in introducing and developing the game of golf for youth participants through engaging and age-appropriate instruction. This position requires a general understanding of fundamentals of golf, the ability to create a safe, fun, and inclusive learning environment, and the enthusiasm to inspire young players. The junior lesson instructor must be able to work from 9:00am to 3:00pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from June 17th to August 15th. This position requires a highly self-motivated individual with strong communication skills, the ability to work with minimal supervision, and a passion for working with youth to foster a love for the game.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
It must be recognized that all specific duties cannot be listed and that responsibilities will change accordingly as the need arises.
- Acknowledge all participants, parents, and guests in a warm, friendly, and professional manner.
- Arrive on time and prepared for all scheduled lessons with necessary teaching aids and equipment.
- Maintain good personal hygiene and report to work wearing appropriate attire suitable for instruction.
- Communicate instructions clearly and effectively, ensuring participants understand drills, safety protocols, and goals.
- Demonstrate golf skills and techniques in a manner suitable for the skill level of the group.
- Promote a fun, engaging, and inclusive learning environment for all junior golfers.
- Provide encouragement and constructive feedback to participants to help them develop their skills and enjoy the game.
- Ensure the safety and supervision of all junior golfers during the lesson.
- Keep the instruction area tidy, returning all equipment to its proper place after each session.
- Be attentive to any special needs or accommodations required by participants and communicate with other instructors or parents as needed.
- Assist in the setup and teardown of teaching stations or any required lesson props.
- Stay informed about Pleasant View Golf Course programs and events to provide accurate information to parents and participants.
- Report any equipment issues, accidents, or incidents to a manager on duty immediately.
- Refer all major problems/complaints to a manager on duty.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Adhere to all Pleasant View Golf Course Policies and Procedures.
REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to clearly communicate with junior participants, parents, and co-workers.
- A positive attitude and enthusiasm for working with youth are essential.
- Customer service experience and a friendly, approachable demeanor are required.
- Ability to demonstrate golf techniques and explain concepts in an age-appropriate and engaging manner.
- Previous experience as a golfer or instructor is helpful but not required.
- Must be patient, energetic, and able to create an inclusive and fun environment for participants.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and move for extended periods during lessons.
- Ability to manage groups of children effectively and safely.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
