POSITION SUMMARY
The ranger assists with directing the flow of traffic on the course, enforcing facility policies, assisting customers with course etiquette, alerting management to any golf course problems, promoting the facility, and assisting players with any on-course problems. The ranger must be flexible in meeting the varying scheduling needs of the course and may be required to work additional hours than scheduled, if necessary. This position requires a highly self-motivated individual who can work with minimal supervision and interact with guests at a high-level.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
It must be recognized that all specific duties cannot be listed and that responsibilities will change accordingly as the need arises.
- This position will acknowledge all guests they encounter in a warm, friendly, and professional manner.
- Check with the golf shop for any special instructions for the day.
- Make sure you have a working radio and tee sheets.
- Check the ranger cart for all supplies for the day (trash bags, scorecards, pencils, repair tools).
- Move around the course in reverse order from hole nine to one making note of any gaps.
- Make sure that all restrooms on the course are adequately supplied.
- Pick up any trash that you see on the ground.
- Report into the golf shop every 30 minutes to one hour with the pace of play.
- Keep the ranger cart free of trash and waste.
- Follow procedures for proper driving of the ranger cart.
- Track and report any broken parts of the ranger cart.
- Responsible for fueling the ranger cart.
- Assist in maintaining golf course condition by promoting the use of ball mark repair tools, replacing divots, and bunkers being raked.
- Implementing the pace of play of 15 minutes per hole and notifying the golf shop of any groups that must be talked to multiple times or groups that need to be moved to a different hole.
- Assist groups with raking bunkers, looking for lost balls, and fore caddying.
- Assist the golf shop by relaying any information regarding the course to the golfers.
- Assist outing personnel with the setup of golf carts and range operations when asked.
- Refer all major problems/complaints to a manager on duty.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Adhere to all Pleasant View Golf Course Policies and Procedures.
- Turn in the tee sheet (including pace of play times) along with the radio to the golf shop at the end of the shift.
REQUIREMENTS
- Flexible availability including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able to clearly communicate with co-workers and guests.
- A positive attitude while on the job is also essential.
- Customer service is a must.
- Background as a golfer is helpful.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
